The Devotion: Tuning the Heart

In the age of the transistor radio, if you were slightly off the frequency, all you heard was static. You had to move the dial slowly until the signal became clear. This is Attunement.

Our hearts are often filled with spiritual "static"—the noise of our worries, the hum of our schedules, and the roar of our own desires. We wonder why we can't hear God, but the truth is, He is speaking; we just aren't on the right frequency.

The WOW Moment today is realizing that God whispers because He is close.

You don't shout at someone sitting right next to you; you whisper. God's "still, small voice" is a reminder of His intimacy. Listening is the "Heart-Work" of creating a space for that whisper. It’s also the key to our relationships. When we listen to others without preparing our "rebuttal," we are practicing a form of holy presence. We are "Being" with them, just as God is "Being" with us.

Wonder Prompt (Actionable Reflection)

Today, practice "The 60-Second Silence."

• Action: Three times today, stop whatever you are doing and just listen for one full minute. Don't pray, don't plan, don't check your phone. Just listen to the sounds in the room, your own breathing, and the quietness of your soul.

• Shift: Notice how your internal "static" begins to clear when you stop trying to control the conversation.

• Prayer: "Lord, help me to be quick to listen and slow to speak today. Tune my heart to Your frequency. Let me hear Your gentle whisper and the hearts of those You’ve placed in my path. Amen."
